Dropper fly leader
In the movie ”Sea Trout Secrets 4 Fly Fishing / Spring”, we see Claus Eriksen tie the leader that he uses most often on the coast. The leader is split up into two parts. First, an ordinary tapered fluorocarbon leader. At the end of this leader, he ties on a tippet section of 0,25 mm fluorocarbon, which has a dropper end attached.
Perfection Loop
In the movie, Claus
Eriksen shows us how he makes a perfection loop. It might appear to be a
difficult knot to tie, but it isn’t. Once you have learned how to tie
it, it is both easy and fast. The loops are used when attaching the
flyline to the leader and the leader to tippet section.
Dropper
- surgical knot
As
a dropper knot, the very simple surgical knot is used. The dropper line
section is made out of 0,35 mm nylonline in another colour than that of
the tippet section. The slightly greater line diameter reduces the risk
of line tangles, and the contrast colour makes it easier to salvage the
whole leader in the event of a line tangle.

Fliegenvorfach mit Aufhänger
Im Film "Geheimnisse der Meerforellen 3 - Spinnfischen/Frühjahr" zeigt Claus Eriksen das Vorfach, mit dem er zumeist an der Küste fischt.Das Vorfach setzt sich aus zwei Teilen zusammen. Zuerst ein sich verjüngendes Fluo-Carbon-Vorfach. Daran knüpft er eine Spitze aus 0,25 mm Fluorocarbon, woran die Aufhängerschlaufe montiert ist.
Perfection Loop
Im Film zeigt Claus Eriksen, wie man einen Perfection loop bindet. Unmittelbar kann er kompliziert wirken, ist er aber nicht. Hat man ihn erstmal gelernt, ist er einfach und schnell zu binden.
Die Schlaufen sind für die Verbindung zwischen Wurfschnur und Vorfach - und Vorfach und Vorfachspitze
Aufhänger-Chirurgenknote
Als Aufhängerknoten wird der recht einfache Chirurgenknoten verwendet. Die Aufhängerschlaufe ist eine 0,35 mm Nylonschnur in einer anderen Farbe als die Vorfachspitze. Die etwas dickere Schnur vermindert das Risiko, das sich alles verheddert. Wenn es denn doch passieren sollte, erleichtert die Kontrastfarbe das entheddern.
